CEO Letter

For more than a quarter of a century, Challenged Child and Friends has been "turning disabilities into possibilities” through the joint efforts of our parents, board of directors, supporters and staff.  As we look to the future, we are continuously developing strategies to meet the ever-growing demand for our services while maintaining our focus on the individual student.  You can help attain those goals by learning about our services and ways you might assist in our efforts.

Challenged Child and Friends is a unique North Georgia resource with a well-earned reputation for providing a learning environment that is inclusive, effective…and fun!  Our families, board of directors, staff, volunteers and supporters have dedicated a great deal of time, effort and resources into making this a one of a kind place that provides opportunities for children with special needs and their typically developing peers.

There are almost daily “I get it” moments seeing our special needs and typically developing children as they play together, help one another and develop wonderful friendships.  The staff does a remarkable job helping the children discover what they can do, and our families have come to expect excellence from the educational, therapeutic, nursing and counseling services and activities provided.

Please spend a few moments exploring our website.  Here, you will learn about our nursing and therapeutic services and SACS accredited pre-school.  You can read success stories of some of our children and discover resources that might assist you as a parent.  Finally, please look at how you may support our mission at Challenged Child and Friends through volunteering, fulfilling a need from our “wish list”, making a donation or by helping us raise money (and have fun) at one of our fundraising events.

Thank you for visiting our website and supporting our efforts to turn disabilities into possibilities.  We hope you will visit soon and see our children at work...and play!
